There are different ways to sow seeds and as long as it works, is no more real than others. It is to find a method that suits one's temperament and the options harmony touch one has in his garden, greenhouse or windowsill. Here is a brief introduction to how I sow the seeds, which you can find on my swap list. My starting point is that I have no greenhouse and I would like to make it as easy for myself as possible and in line with how perennials naturally do.
The seeds can be sown from September to March. I wound them in plastic trays / pots and cover the ground with pebbles, the water becomes nedfra and then they get otherwise allowed to stand outside all winter and take care of themselves. (More thorough description here) During the March / April they should be watered if it is dry. They may be placed in a greenhouse. They begin to sprout from the end of March. Once they have received the first set of true leaves (not cotyledons) pricking the addition of small pots, for example, made of newsprint. Ompot them like during the summer and plant them out to be the place in late summer or if you have a corner in the kitchen garden that can be used to staudebørnehave. Get perennials bloom the first year, others take one to several years before they bloom.
Since I do not have gas, I can not compare with it, but the advantage of seeing them outdoors, unlike in the windowsill is great: The plants are already used to the weather and should not be worn in and out for several days to get used to outdoor life. Do not go and water them, or cover them with plastic where soil and seeds may risk moldy. You do not need any fancy equipment, such as small sprout boxes / mini greenhouses, bedroller, artificial light or the like. The little sprouts growing quietly and you have a long period where you can prikle them into small pots. When I sowed inside, they could in a few days grow from tiny seeds of long sprouts before I could get pricked them over.
The 2-year harmony touch plants form the first year of a green leaf rosette and next spring / summer blooms and they set seed and die. The seeds can be sown as soon as they are harvested in the summer and all year round. The easiest option is if you can spredså them with a pencil, right there in the garden where you want your plants. It requires two things: First, that you know how the little plants look like, so you do not hatch them away. Second, there is little space between the existing plants the seeds / seedlings get light / sun / room to grow. You can also place them in the same way as perennials. If you have space in the vegetable garden, you also saw a number of each kind of seed either in the fall or spring and when plants have a little size later in the summer planting them out on being the place where they will bloom the following year.
1 year old From frøbyttelisten: Red havemælde, sweet pea, runner beans, borlotto beans, purple beans, purple / pink opium poppy. Red havemælde and opium poppy should preferably be sown on the spot, as it is not smart to move them around. Havemælden can you all year round, poppy from early spring. They are both very easy to spot, but if you are in doubt as little in a pot to see what not to hatch in your bed. Remember if necessary to thin out the plants if they have planted too close to the bed. The beans are sown in May, for example, the toilet rolls or other slightly tall pots (one in each wheel / pot) and planted out in May / June when the soil is warm and there is no risk of frost. Sweet Pea was seen in April and planted out in May, I know that someone wound them outside in plastic bags in early spring, I have not even been tried by another, but certainly worth a try.
