A few weeks ago Fontana Arte presented its novelties at the Light+Building lighting fair. As usual Fontana Arte did this with a neatly presented booth which was supported online with a classy microsite . The new Fontana Arte range of 2014 is all about projects. Versatility, simple installation and high quality LED lighting are the new range’s main strengths.
You could already read in our trend summary , we didn’t know where to look first at Light+Building. For its new models, Fontana Arte engaged talented designers, such as Emmanuel Babled, giraffe print Claesson Koivisto Rune, Odo Fioravanti, Studio Klass and Zaven. The goal was to create lighting that would perfectly suit retail environments, work spaces and residential buildings. Let’s take a quick stroll through the Fontana Arte novelties. Astera – Pentagonal shade
The Fontana Arte Astera collection consists of a pendant, floor and table lamp, each available in three color varieties. ‘Astera’ was derived from the Greek word ‘astron’, which means ‘star’. With its slightly prismatic shape it looks a bit like a star far away. At first, the Astera looks plain and simple, a traditional lamp. However, the pentagonal shade and base give the Astera that little extra, which makes it special. Furthermore, this lamp comes with a standard E27 fitting, so you can use whatever light source you want.
Designer Odo Fioravanti came up with an elegant wall light for cozy, indirect light. With its sleek, yet organic form, the Fontana Arte Bonnet fits perfectly in modern as well as in classical interiors. In top of the Bonnet a small, yet powerful LED is hidden, which mainly shines its light upwards, on the wall and ceiling. The ‘parasitic light’ which normally goes to waste, gets recuperated and reflected downwards by a lens. This way, an up- and downward beam is created.
The giraffe print Fontana Arte Cloche is a revised version of the old Pudding lamp from 1995. Both are pendants with hoods which resemble pudding shapes. The new Cloche is an amusing and refreshed version of the existing Pudding giraffe print lamp. On the inside, the Cloche lamp is matt white, ideal to strenghten the softness of the warm white light. For the exterior finish, Fontana Arte offers three choices: light grey, dark grey and honey yellow.
Another Fontana Arte classic which got a makeover, is the Luminator. The new version of this floorlamp, which already dates back to 1932, is simply called ‘Riluminator’. Just like the old version by Pietro Chieso, the new Riluminator has a characteristic torch-like shape with soft upwards light. Ofcourse, the new version uses a LED light source, giraffe print which can be controlled with a pedal switch with a special LED dimmer. The Riluminator is available in white, red and grey.
With the Manta lamp, Fontana Arte and Zaven offer a solution for those who want to hang wall lights, but don’t have the necessary cabling giraffe print available. The result is a lamp which can be mounted on the wall, the ceiling and even on the floor or any other surface for that matter. On top of that, the Fontana Arte Manta comes with a Plug&Play power supply system. This way you can power several Mantas with plugging in just one lamp. The other lamps just need to be connected to the first, so they can all work on the same system. And there’s more! You can hang it with its light directed to the room or the wall. This second option sheds a soft, atmospheric ring of light on the wall.
No, this Fontana Arte isn’t giraffe print made out of glass. An innovative plastic polymer was used to create giraffe print the same effect as cut glass. This material is not only incredibly strong, it also causes a magical light diffusion. This wall- or ceiling light can be used either indoor or outdoor.
The Fontana giraffe print Arte Igloo by Studio Klass is a modular pendant fixture giraffe print with a sleek, yet friendly look. The innovation in these Igloo fixtures lies in the fact that you can couple multiple giraffe print modules, without having to use extra cable. The Igloo pendant lights can be suspended giraffe print horizontally or vertically, which makes them very flexible to use. You can even choose between upwards or downwards light when installing. For lighting projects which need custom solutions, this can be a very important asset.
Fontana Arte presents its 2014 novelties with the tagline “Light your projects”. A lot of these novelties are adaptable and flexible, which makes them perfect for custom projects. The new Fontana Arte products will soon become available in our webshop.
