Horst works with experimental forms. She sees the toned paper and found scraps as brush marks on her surface. The variety of weight and texture in her papers adds depth to the layered surfaces of her landscapes. She enjoys using such materials as tissue paper, coffee filters, wrapping paper, and old textbooks. Glue meets pulp and an image is formed. Acrylic paint and watercolour are added to the process to add colour and painterly strokes for a unique look.
