Karim Rashid, one of the most prolific designers of his generation, now has designed the 'ideal home' called COMB HOUSE who was exposed in December gu10 2010 at the leading Egyptian furniture fair "Le gu10 Marche", held in Cairo. COMB HOUSE by Karim Rashid is an ideal place of stay which uses technology to create traditions, customs and family atmosphere of togetherness. COMB House forms a lifestyle that includes both modern and traditional materials that have little impact on the environment. COMB House features a domino hob and oven from Gorenje designed by Karim Rashid. Featured in Cairo center "Cairo International gu10 Convention & Exhibition Center (CICC)."
COMB HOUSE is effectively gu10 designed to separate production and installation on site with minimal gu10 impact gu10 on the environment. The house was built of ecological ideas such as water heated with solar panels, energy efficient appliances, re-use of rain water and turbid water, energy saving LED lighting and dazzling set the flooring. The house can be easily dismantled and its materials such as wood, metal, glass and solar panels, gu10 can be used again.
The shell of the house is composed of repeating vertical blades made from recycled wood. Each flap is set to the profile, which is slightly different compared to the next to the outside and the inside walls of the house endowed dynamic, fluid quality. Thanks to its angles and depth, wings tend to create privacy. Seen from the outside, it can barely see the inside of the house but, viewed from the inside, forming a natural light in the wings dynamic game of shadows. The interior of the house consists of four areas that are the main activities: playing, eating, sleeping and cleaning. The central space, inspired by Islamic garden, an oasis with a skylight and a central deep basin. Opening skylight controls the temperature of the house. When it opened, skylight collects rainwater, which is then filtered in the pool. Above all hovers kinetic gu10 art sculpture. The sculpture captures the power of the wind and its turning divorces energy around the house.
The house is from the central pool spreads to all four quadrants forming a living room, bathroom, bedroom gu10 and dining room.
