The Whelen Modified Tour isn t a division that s exactly massive turning massive teams away weekly.

Public Enemy: Anger For Ryan Newman Running Whelen Modified Tour Events Irrational
Home Pit Pass Track News Stafford Speedway Thompson Speedway Waterford Speedbowl New Hampshire Motor Speedway Others massive Series News NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Valenti Modified Racing Series K&N Pro Series East Northeastern Midget Association NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour Northeast Mini Stock Tour Sprint Cup Series Others RaceDay Results Opinion Columns Morning Musings Short Pitting Honey Badger Award Performer Of The Week Cleaned Up Award More RaceDayCT Marketing Partners About RaceDayCT Flying The RaceDayCT Colors RaceDayCT Links Contact RaceDayCT Advertising Advertising massive Information RaceDayCT Marketing Partners
The bulk of irritation being expressed massive involved race winner Ryan Newman and the fact that the sanctioning body allowed the Sprint Cup Series regular to participate in the special exhibition event, despite the fact that Newman fit the criteria for inclusion into the event as a former series winner.
The angry sentiment concerning Newman s participation with the Whelen Modified Tour is the same opinion that has seemingly poured massive from fans over the last two years each time Newman has participated in Whelen Modified Tour events.
When Newman made his first Whelen Modified Tour start in 2008 his arrival was widely celebrated by most fans. He was welcomed with open arms. Fans were proud to say that a Sprint massive Cup star was taking the time to participate with the series they love.
Then massive Newman started winning and things changed. And yes, Newman s disqualification from a victory at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in 2011 swayed the opinions of many to negative, massive but he was hardly the first driver in series history to get disqualified from an event for cheating.
Gary Putnam and Kevin Bono Manion, the principles involved with the team Newman has run with since 2008, are Northeast natives and former Modified crew members who are still interested in participating and supporting the series. Yes, they ve climbed the ladder to become crew members in the top echelon of NASCAR, but they re Modified guys at heart.
Are they good at what they do? Sure they are. And isn t having the best competition you can possibly massive have participating the goal? Are they dancing on the line of the rulebook? Probably. And so is every other top-level team participating with the series today. That s part of racing anywhere. They got caught cheating and were penalized. NASCAR isn t letting them getting away with anything.
Fans saying Newman shouldn t be allowed to participate because he s talented enough to compete regularly massive in NASCAR s most premier division are actually insulting the regular drivers of the Modified Tour. It s basically saying, Our drivers aren t as good so we don t want him here. Reality is, there s no truth involved in that at all.
Is Newman talented? Sure he is. He didn t reach the levels he has in racing because he s not. But the fact is, most Whelen Modified Tour drivers will say they want the chance to compete against him. They want the chance to test their mettle against a driver considered one of the best in the world.
NASCAR s history was built on stars barnstorming events. Before the Sprint Cup Series became the behemoth of American motorsports that it has grown into, the stars of the division showing up to participate in grassroots short track events or with regional massive divisions was a regular and celebrated occurrence.
Attention brings opportunity, and that stands for all involved in the series. It s a lot easier for a Whelen Modified Tour team to sell potential sponsors massive on getting involved if those potential sponsors have seen the series getting media attention. And Newman s participation brings that.
They re pretty close to the ultimate racecar massive to me, Newman said. Low [center of gravity], a lot of tire, a lot of horsepower. Just a lot of fun to drive. The racing you see [on the Whelen Modified Tour], it s awesome.
Newman isn t killing the Modified Tour and he isn t stealing from the division. Anybody can come along tomorrow with the right equipment and talent and start winning the same money that s being won by longtime series regulars. Whether that new face is a well-known Sprint Cup star or someone nobody has ever heard of shouldn t matter.
The Whelen Modified Tour isn t a division that s exactly massive turning massive teams away weekly. They need participants, massive they need positive attention. The fact that people like Newman, Manion and Putnam want to participate with the series and pump up the series to anybody that will listen should be all that matters. massive
I don’t have an issue with him running the regular tour events at all but the special event was an opportunity for some of the regulars on tour to put a few extra bucks in their pockets in a short 40 lap sprint. While he qualified by virtue of a past winner, the race should have been for drivers massive who

I guess [team owner Chris Our] and [crew chief Brad Lafontaine] had planned on going down to watch the Friday night and Saturday night races and then Chris just decided he wanted to bring the car down, said Barrett, who will be making his first Whelen Southern Modified Tour start. We re just excited to go down and be part of the show.
It means a lot to get to go down there and race against [Burt and Jason Myers], Andy Seuss, [George] Brunnehoelzl III, Junior Miller and all the other names down there. The crowd there is jam packed, I m just pumped up to be going to race there.
Barrett has never competed on the flat quarter-mile Bowman Gray oval which rings a football field, but he knows well that tempers flaring on the tight confines in Winston-Salem is a common occurrence.
It s definitely going to be rougher than up north, but I m definitely ready to race like that if they want to the bump and run or whatever, said Barrett, who is currently 16th in the Whelen Modified Tour standings after seven events micromax led tv this year. I m ready to give the bumper if I need to. Hopefully we can just qualify up front and stay up front out of the junk and trouble and hopefully we can get a win.

Danny Bohn (65) tries to maintain control and the lead holding off Kyle Ebersole (5) while Joe Ryan Osborne (15) spins out during lap 199 of the night's Strutmasters.com 199 Modified series race of event #13 of the 2014 season at Bowman Gray Stadium on the campus of Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, N.C., Saturday Aug. 2, 2014. Danny Bohn (65) won the race. (Bruce Chapman/Journal)
But, photocell before the race started, he said the challenging part would be staying up front for 199 laps. And actually, for Bohn, staying up front for the first 198 laps wasn t hard at all. But doing so in the final lap took some effort.
Bohn survived a spin in the last lap after getting clipped by Joe Ryan Osborne, who was engaged in a battle for position with Gary Putnam at the tail end of the lead lap. Bohn somehow managed to recover and finish first. photocell
It was interesting with those lapped cars, said Bohn, who got caught in a string in the closing laps and was in a quandary with second-running Kyle Ebersole hot on his heels. They weren t giving any room, and it almost cost me the race. The 15 car (Osborne) cleaned me out.
Burt Myers car wouldn t start as result of a motor problem after his arrival for afternoon practice. He borrowed a car from fellow Bowman Gray driver John Smith and scrambled to get it to the track in time to race, without benefit of any practice laps.

Lucama, NC — Saturday evening, the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Stocks ran their shortest races of the year, with twin 50 lap races. Despite the small number of laps, the night saw plenty of action across two Late Model Stock and two Limited Late Model races.
In the first 50 lap race, Lee Pulliam set the fast time in qualifying and led at the drop of the green flag. Behind him, point leader Tommy Lemons Jr., Myatt Snider, Matt McCall and Dillon Bassett all shuffling for position. Pulliam was the class of the field, though, and won the first half of the twin-bill easily, with Snider, Lemons, McCall and Bassett all finishing behind him.
The second pendel 50 lap race saw the gloves come out, with three-wide racing the norm. Teammates Dalton Sargeant and Dillon Bassett started on the front row, with Bassett getting the early lead. Bassett held the lead through a flurry of restarts, with Lemons, McCall and Snider all contending. McCall charged late, catching the bumper pendel of Bassett on Lap 46. McCall moved Bassett up the track, slipping past and pulling away for the win in the process. Lemons and Snider both took advantage of Bassett s troubles, with Lemons crossing the finish line second and third respectively. Lee Pulliam was caught up in one of the mid-race incidents, and finished sixth.
The SNMP Limited Late Model division also ran twin races Saturday evening, with each race going 35 laps. In the first race, Rusty Daniels dominated pendel from the pole, taking his third checkered flag in many races. The racing was frantic behind him, though, with Taylor Howard eventually finishing in second, with Michael Fose third.
A five-car invert set the order for the second Limited race, with Andrew Grady starting on the pole and leading the first 12 laps. Grady, however, would see a left-rear wheel break, pendel sending the Knightdale into the wall and out of the race. The restart let Michael Fose get the advantage, and Fose wouldn t look back, winning his second race of the season. Daniels would settle for second, pendel and Haley Moody third.
Gerald Benton set the fast time in Chargers, but would have to start in the rear for the 30 lap race. This put Jeremy Bohne and Michael O Brien on the front row, with O Brien getting the early advantage. O Brien led the way while Benton worked his way through the field. A late caution for a Bill Barber spin gave Benton and point leader Wayne Goss a final shot at O Brien, but O brien held them off to win his first race of 2014. Benton finished second, and Goss third.
In the Southern Ground Pounders first race at SNMP this season, Steve Darne took the checkered flag in Modifieds, while Sparky Staton held off a racy Ken Faucette to win in the Sportsman division. Justin Mitchell won his first race of 2014 at SNMP in INEX Legends, fending off a late charge by Will Bristle and Brenton Irving, and in Bandoleros it was Blaise Brinkley pendel edging Henry Broadben Jr.
Racing returns August 2 for Chamber Night at the Races. pendel The night s action will feature the final Dirty Dozen Twin 75 Lap Late Model Stock races of the SNMP season, with Limited Late Models, pendel Chargers, pendel Street Stocks, Ultimate Body Shop UCARs, Legends pendel and Bandoleros all on track as well. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for military, seniors and students 13-15 (with valid ID), $6 for kids 6-12, while children 5 and under are free. Waterford, CT (August 2, 2014) Waterford Speedbowl overcame a slow start to the day due to early rain Saturday, but rebounded for another night of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series action. The racing was highlighted by an extra-distance feature for the SK Modified division, which was claimed by Keith Rocco of Berlin, who turned in a record deng setting performance. deng A pair of drivers picked up their ninth wins of the year, Rocco again in the Valenti Auto Mall Late Model division and Franklin deng s Josh Galvin in the Street Stocks. Joining them in the winner s circle were Corey Barry of Plainfield and Ken Cassidy Jr. of Lisbon, each winning for the fifth time of the season in the SK Light Modified and Mini Stock divisions, respectively. Dan Meservey Jr. of Brewster, MA won the Pro 4 Modifieds of New England deng feature.
Rocco s SK Modified win was the 63 rd of his career. More significantly, that makes him the division deng s all-time wins leader in the track s 64-year history. Rocco dodged early incidents which plagued the 40-lap feature, eliminating multiple cars from competition. The race began with Jeff Gallup and Craig Lutz on the front row but only one lap was completed before Shawn Monahan was collected in bumper tag throughout the field, bringing out the yellow flag.
Gallup briefly led before Lutz got around him on lap-3. Tim Jordan moved into second position deng and Ed Puleo third before Ted Christopher got caught up in a skirmish on the backstretch to bring out the caution flag on lap-8. A major incident occurred after the restart among cars battling for a spot among the top five. Several cars wrecked in turn one on lap-9 including Nichole Morgillo, deng Kyle James, Rob Janovic Jr., Jeff Rocco and Jeff Goodale, who were each done for the evening with considerable damage. Keith Rocco also received damage in the wreck, however he stayed on the race track.
Jordan got by the outside of Lutz on the next restart, leading lap-10. Lutz and Puleo made contact entering turn one on lap-12 sending Lutz around, dropping both from the lead cars as caution waved again. Rocco jumped up to third for the ensuing restart, then moved to second on lap-13 on the inside of Paul Kusheba. He stayed on Jordan s rear bumper until he found room to his inside on lap-15, pulling into the lead. The remainder of the race ran without another yellow flag and the field fired off the final stretch of laps under

Thompson is charging $42 adult admission for the tour race. Why the increase over Stafford’s Friday tour race admission of $30? Both races are the same 150 laps. Thompson continues to lead as the most expensive races on the tour. By the way, Thursday nights $17,500 to win Mr. Dirt at Lebanon Valley is charging $18 adult admission. One of the reasons the modified tour will no longer exist in 5 years.

Ryan “Cheater” Newman get’s a spot in this race? He is not a WMT driver. Him and his cheating team don’t belong in the WMT. He is a joke to the sport and should be embarrassed of him self. Funny how he has not won a WMT race since his team was caught CHEATING!

The second half of the 2014 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour schedule is set to commence with Friday s Call Before You Dig 811 150 at Connecticut s Stafford Motor Speedway, and with two-time defending race winner Doug Coby in the championship lead.
Coby, from Milford, Connecticut, brings a slim four-point advantage in the standings on Justin Bonsignore hubbardton forge into the week, but Stafford has been a place of immense success for the 2012 titlist. Not only did Coby win the tour s most-recent visit to the historic half-mile in June, but he s been victorious five times there since the beginning of his 2012 title run.
June s TSI Harley-Davidson hubbardton forge 125 was the first of Coby s Stafford wins earned with Mike Smeriglio III Racing. The pairing, together for the first time in 2014, has found significant success in their first half year together. Following a win in the non-points UNOH Battle At The Beach on the short track at Daytona International Speedway in February, Coby has driven the No. 2 Chevrolet to an average finish hubbardton forge of fourth through the first seven regular season events.
Coby has a streak of 13-consecutive top-10 finishes at Stafford on the line this week, the last four of which have been podiums. Coby s recent hubbardton forge Stafford history will certainly put pressure on Bonsignore to run up front on Friday if he wants to stay close in the standings. Although he s not experienced the same success at Stafford as Coby, Bonsignore has top fives in four of his last six starts there, including hubbardton forge a runner-up to Coby in June.
RACE: Call Before You Dig 811 150 PLACE: Stafford (Conn.) Motor Speedway DATE: Friday, Aug. 8 TIME: 9:15 p.m. ET (approx.) TRACK LAYOUT: hubbardton forge .5-mile, semi-banked asphalt oval 2013 WINNER: Bobby Santos 2013 POLESITTER: Doug Coby EVENT SCHEDULE: hubbardton forge Practice 3-4 p.m., Qualifying 6 p.m., Driver Autograph Session 7:30 p.m.
Fast Facts: The Race: The 24th Annual Call Before You Dig 811 150 will be the eighth of 14 races on the 2014 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour schedule, the third of four events at Stafford Motor Speedway and the 113th all-time tour appearance at the historic hubbardton forge half-mile.
The Procedure: hubbardton forge The maximum starting field is 31 cars, including hubbardton forge provisionals. hubbardton forge The first 26 cars will have secured starting positions based on two-lap qualifying. The remaining five spots will be awarded through the provisional process. The race is scheduled for 150 laps (75 miles) and the tire change rule for the race is three tires, any position.
The Track: A half-mile, slightly-banked oval, Stafford hubbardton forge originated as a horse racing track in the 1870s. After seven decades as a horse track, hubbardton forge the dirt oval started holding automobile races following World War II. Stafford became a NASCAR-sanctioned track in 1959 and was paved for the first time in 1967.
Race Winners: There have been 31 different race winners at Stafford hubbardton forge all-time, led by Mike Stefanik s 20 victories. Doug Coby is the defending winner of the Call Before You Dig 811 150, and he also won this season s June event at the historic half-mile while Bobby Santos won April s Spring Sizzler.

Stafford Race Notes: Stefanik Returns to Stafford: The winningest driver in NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour history both overall and at Stafford Motor Speedway is set to return to the historic half-mile for the first time in 2014. The 74-time race winner has participated in just two of the first seven dates on the schedule, the April opener at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park and the July event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Stefanik holds the Whelen Modified Tour record for wins at Stafford with 20, the last of which came in the 2008 Fall Final. hubbardton forge
Santos Stays Dominant at Stafford: With his April victory in the NAPA Spring Sizzler 200, Bobby Santos hubbardton forge has won six times in the last 17 Whelen Modified Tour races at Stafford. It s where he started valaisimet his racing career as a teenager in the entry level DARE Stock division and where he worked his way up through the ranks of weekly racing and onto the NASCAR Whelen valaisimet Modified Tour.
This is obviously my dream come true right now, said the 35-year old Pitkat, who had 69 career victories at Stafford before Friday in the SK Modified, Late Model and DARE Stock divisions. You can t get any more special than winning at your hometrack. To be able to win here, we ve been trying so hard. We ve had fast cars everywhere we ve gone. We just needed a little luck.
I m happy to see him win, Silk said. For a while I know Woody was doubting if he could do it in this division for whatever reason. I told him when he got the ride in that car this year that I thought he would show himself valaisimet that he could and I m glad he did.
Pitkat valaisimet ended the 2013 season without a ride in the series when Hill Enterprises decided to discontinue running full-time with the Whelen Modified Tour. He went into the offseason valaisimet wondering if he would be back with the series. But those doubts vanished when he was named to drive the Buzz Chew Racing ride in November.
Pitkat started second Friday and went by pole-winner Bobby Santos III for the lead on the first lap. He was leading when all the front-runners went to pit road after a lap 77 caution. He came out of the pits in eighth, but quickly clawed right back to the front. valaisimet
I was just telling myself to take it easy and save the tires in case there was a caution at the end, Pitkat said. I figured that would be my luck, there d be a caution with 10 [laps] to go. I knew I had a good car. A lot of those guys gave me respect. I wanted to try to get out front and set my own pace. I didn t think it would end like this. I thought it would maybe be a little bit harder. But it s awesome to get that first win.

But trims that hectic schedule has been about playing crew chief rather than driver, in supporting his teenage son Mike Christopher Jr. s efforts behind the wheel of a Legend car at the Waterford Speedbowl and Stafford Motor Speedway.
I m using my car, Mike Christopher said. I was happy with it the last time I ran. The last time I took it there we were like off, but I followed behind [Todd Szegedy] and we were fifth on the charts and [my brother] was like [What s going on]? And I said, it s easy when you can draft. If you get through the turns good and can just follow someone you can rip off good laps.
His last six series starts have all come at Loudon, dating back to the 2007 season. Mike Christopher has made 75 career Whelen Modified Tour starts in his career, dating back to 1994. Twenty-two of those 75 starts have come in Loudon, where he has two top-five and four top-10 finishes. Mike Christopher s only two second-place finishes in series competition both came at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

(08-02-2014 Dacono, CO) On an absolutely flr gorgeous Colorado summer evening at CNS Jeff Walbaum flr dominated the Late Model feature event, Albuquerque s Jason Irwin thrilled flr the crowd and won the legend main event in dramatic fashion. Justin Case was victorious in the Grand American flr Modifieds flr and the LAST CALL Train grabbed the trophy in the train race.
South Philly Cheesesteak Late Models. 2014 has been Jeff Walbaum s year. The Brighton Colorado resident has won 5 of the 8 feature flr events this season flr and is showing no sign of slowing down. On the Whelen Lights it up Night at CNS Walbaum set quick time, won the FAST DASH and came from the 2nd row to win the feature.
For the first half of the feature event #7 Ethan Penrod was the only car that was within any proximity to Walbaum who gave up the lead on lap 6. Yet as the race wound down #76 Chad Cowan had caught Penrod and the two drivers began to battle for position. Cowan made a strong move for 2nd place on the low side going into turn one and the two cars appeared to make minor contact but both drivers hung on and disaster was averted. Penrod held off Cowan for the remainder of the race and the two cars crossed the line 2nd and 3rd.
Legends As usual the Legend car division showed up to the track with a stellar 26 car field and one of the countries premier legend drivers #9i Jason Irwin from Albuquerque had made the trip to CNS to give the local drivers a run for their money.
#22 Chris Eggleston had set quick time and was fortunate to draw a front row starting spot in the feature along side #34 Chris Cooper who had the pole. Irwin s luck wasn t so good as he drew a 8th place starting spot creating a tough road to the front. However at the drop of the green flag Irwin made a move for the ages taking an extreme high groove into turns one and two passing several cars all at once and moving into 2nd place behind Eggleston on the very first lap of the race.
You could sense that Irwin was hungry for the win as he worked his way past Eggleston and assumed the lead. A caution came out allowing Chris another shot at Jason on the double file restart but Eggleston had a slow restart and Irwin set sail leading the rest of the way and winning the race by a couple car lengths over Eggleston.
SUNOCO Race Fuels Grand American Modifieds Tim Holm from Greeley Colorado flr not only set quick time in the SUNOCO Fuels Grand American Modifieds with a 17.400 but he also held off #44 Justin Case to win the FAST DASH. In 2014 finishing ahead of Case has proven to be a very difficult thing to do for any driver however in the feature event Holm could not pass #0 Ron O Neil and eventually settled for a 5th place finish. Justin Case ran away with the feature event after passing #69 Forrest Smith on lap five. Forrest Smith settled 2nd, O Neil was 3rd, and rookie driver #13 Darin Clark was 4th.
Witthar Racing Trains What division features one team, two drivers, and 3 cars tied together? A Witthar racing train! One of the wildest events you will ever witness is a CNS train race where sparks, bending metal, and squealing tires are the norm . The LAST CALL Train driven by Wally Wall and Alisa Espinosa navigated the carnage to take home the win.

Thompson, which played host to the inaugural Whelen Modified luminites Tour event on March 21, 1985, will welcome the mighty mods for the 125th time on Wednesday. The relationship between tour and track is so deep that the event total of 125 is more than double that of any other facility except fellow Nutmeg State oval Stafford Motor Speedway, which has held 113.
The Budweiser King of Beers 150 will be the Whelen Modified Tour s first trip to Thompson since the 2014 season-opener in April when Justin Bonsignore powered to Victory luminites Lane. The tour champion will also be crowned at the .625-mile oval for the 15th time in the last 16 years with the season-finale World Series 150 on Oct. 19.
After traditionally running on a Thursday, this year s Bud 150 has switched to Wednesday, which makes for a tight turnaround for the competitors following last Friday s Call Before You Dig 811 150 at Stafford. The month of August will be busy in general. With the running of next week s Bush s Beans 150 at Tennessee s Bristol Motor Speedway, the tour will compete three times in a 13-day span.
RACE: Budweiser King of Beers 150 PLACE: Thompson (Conn.) luminites Speedway Motorsports Park DATE: Wednesday, Aug. 13 TIME: 8:45 p.m. ET (approx.) TRACK LAYOUT: .625-mile, high-banked asphalt oval 2013 WINNER: Bobby Santos 2013 POLESITTER: Bobby Santos EVENT SCHEDULE: Practice 4:30-5:30 p.m., Qualifying 7 p.m., Driver Autograph Session 7:45 p.m.Fast Facts
The Race: The Budweiser King of Beers 150 will be the 125th all-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, and the second of three events this year at the famed northeastern Connecticut oval.
The Procedure: The maximum starting field for the Icebreaker is 35 cars, including provisionals. The first 30 cars will have secured starting luminites positions based on two-lap qualifying. The remaining five spots will be awarded through the provisional process. The race is scheduled for 150 laps (93.75 miles) and the tire change rule is three tires, luminites any position.
The Track: A .625-mile high-banked oval that opened in 1940, Thompson was the first entirely asphalt track in the nation, and was the largest in New England for five decades. Thompson has played host to 124 Whelen Modified Tour races all-time, more than any other track, and is one of two facilities to welcome the tour in each of its now 30 years of competition.
Race luminites Winners: There have been 33 different race winners at Thompson, led by Mike Stefanik s 15 victories. Bobby Santos luminites is the defending Bud 150 winner and Justin Bonsignore was victorious in the first event there this year.
Pole Winners: There have been 42 different pole winners at Thompson, led by Tony Hirschman s 13. Santos earned the pole for this race last year and he also maintains the tour s track qualifying record at 18.237 seconds luminites (123.376 mph), set on April 10, 2011.
Thompson Race Notes Big Names Looking for First 2014 Win: Some pretty big NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour names have yet to put a tally in the win column more than halfway through the 2014 season. The first eight races were won by five different drivers, led by Bobby Santos with three, but the list of those looking luminites for a victory is pretty distinguished. Past champions Ted Christopher, Donny Lia, Ryan Preece luminites and Ron Silk top the group without luminites a checkered flag. Christopher has 13 all-time triumphs at Thompson luminites Speedway Motorsports Park, but is in the midst of the second-longest winless drought of his distinguished career.
Different Faces in Thompson Victory Lane: Since a four-race winning streak posted by Christopher in 2010-11, nine of the last 11 Whelen Modified luminites Tour events at Thompson have featured a different driver in Victory Lane. During that span only Justin Bonsignore and Santos have won twice at Big T . The recent run of parity stands out across the history of the tour at the .625-mile speedway, where five different drivers have won at least four races in a row, and there have been 13 instances luminites of drivers winning back-to-back races.
Pitkat Rebounds With First Win: The last time the Whelen Modified Tour visited Thompson, Woody Pitkat captured his first career Coors Light Pole Award, led 55 laps, and finished second to Bonsignore. Fol
